In addition to teaching WRIT 502: Cyber-Rhetoric, I’m a Fellow with the Walter J. Ong Center for Language, Media, and Culture at Saint Louis University and a Founding Associate and editor, writer, and project manager with The Cooler Minds, LLC.

I study and teach the intersections of media, technology, and culture, with particular interests in digital rhetoric and composition, digital humanities, medieval rhetoric and poetics, the practices and technologies of memory, and media ecology/orality-literacy studies.

I serve on the CCCC Committee for Computers in Composition and Communication, on the Editorial Board of Kairos: A Journal of Rhetoric, Technology, and Pedagogy, and as a member of the Board of Directors Protempore for the Walter J. Ong Society. From 2004-2007, I was a processing archivist for Saint Louis University’s Walter J. Ong Manuscript Collection.

In my spare time, I tinker with Arduinos, handmade books, paper-based electronics, and mandolin. I blog, quite infrequently, at Machina Memorialis.
